GUY NELSON
FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR
Alpha Partners is the culmination of leading property figure Guy Nelson's years of experience in investment banking and real estate.
With more than a decade as Executive Director and Head of Real Estate at Macquarie Group in Melbourne, Guy is known for establishing and managing Macquarie’s real estate business in Mumbai, India. Whilst at Macquarie Guy was involved in many of Melbourne’s most significant real estate transactions as financier and adviser, including QV, Botanica, World Trade Centre, 171 Collins Street and the RACV development.
Guy is considered an industry leader in Australia in the field of real estate principal investment, primarily in the opportunistic space, including development projects, special situations and asset underwritings.
Guy has over 25 years’ experience in law, investment banking and real estate investment. He originally practised commercial law before commencing a career in investment banking where he gained considerable experience in structured finance, debt and equity capital raising and corporate advisory roles, with a focus in the property sector, prior to specialising in property investment.
Guy served as a Board member on many Macquarie investments and on Property Council of Australia advisory committees and is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute. He is on several Advisory Boards to private companies in the property sector and is also on the Board of Western Chances, a not-for–profit organisation assisting disadvantaged young people in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
